Seymour Rextite
Seymour Rexite, and his wife Miriam Kressyn were responsible for keeping the Yiddish airwaves of New York full of lively music between the end of World War II and the 1970s. Working primarily on New York station WEVD, Rexite and Kressyn combined to write and perform countless programs of Yiddish music, translations of popular American songs, and bilingual renderings of the American song book.

Rexite came to the United States as a young boy, and was billed as "Der Wunderkind," before settling down into the Yiddish theater and radio. At one point, by his own recollection, Rexite was playing 18 programs a week on the radio, dashing back and forth between stations.
