Biography
Born to a line of five generations of canros his artistry, interpretative skills, creativity and awe-inpsiring productivity have left an indelible mark on the Jewish musical landscape supplying it with an evolving musical sound and some of its most spectacular album covers. In a chameleonic career he has recorded for Tikvah, Menorah and his own Zimray records. Once signed for United Artists, he will be remembered for the recordings he has made with his own family, and for the cantorial chanting style he made standard operating procedue in the American synagogue. "I wrote arrangements you have heard so often in synagogue you thought they come from Sinai." he once said. For Zim, performance is the ultimate high and his showmanship is the stuff of legend.
