1910s

  • August 4, 1915 (Isadore Schwartz) Irving Fields is born.

1920s

  • 1923 Irving Fields starts piano lessons.
  • 1928 Irving Fields plays his first professional lounge gig at 13.

  • 1930 Irving wins the Fred Allen Radio Amateur Hour at the age of 15.
  • 1932 Irving gets his first major gig as a piano player on a cruise ship to Havana and San Juan.

  • 1941 Irving Fields drafted into the army, joins Special Services as an entertainer.
  • 1946 Irving Fields releases first Jewish-Latin fusion hit, “Miami Beach Rumba,” on RCA Victor.
